This 16 day expedition will take you to three interesting countries: Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. All of them border each other and they share the legacy of the ancient Mayan civilization. At the same time they differ from each other in many respects.
We will visit colonial cities and the pre-Hispanic ruins of the Mayan civilization. Also we are going to enjoy the mountain towns such as San Cristobal de las Casas and the fabulous islands of the Caribbean. Our visits to the sacred Tikal and Palenque will remain in your memory forever.
Cancun - Puerto Morelos - Tulum - San Pedro - Caye Caulker - San Ignacio - El Remate - Tikal - Flores - Palenque
Day 1 Cancun - Puerto Morelos
Arrival in Cancun. Then drive to the charming town of Puerto Morelos. Overnight in Puerto Morelos.
Day 2 Puerto Morelos - Tulum
The morning snorkeling on a coral reef. Drive to the town of Tulum and accommodation in individual bungalows right on the beach. Overnight stay in Tulum.
Day 3 Tulum
Stroll the archaeological zone of Tulum, which is beautifully situated on a high cliff. Swim in the sea. In the afternoon swim in a cave filled with water, the so-called cenote. Night out at the bar with music. Overnight stay in Tulum.
Day 4 Tulum - San Pedro, Belize
Drive through the jungle to the border city Chetumal. Then, cross by boat to the coral island of Ambergris Caye. Explore the Caribbean island and relax on the beach. Evening at a local bar with live music. Overnight stay in San Pedro.
Day 5 San Pedro
Rest on the wonderful white beaches of the Caribbean. Swim in the warm, turquoise water. Dance on the beach to the music. Overnight in San Pedro.
Day 6 San Pedro - Caye Caulker
Cross by boat to the small coral island of Caye Caulker. Explore the Caribbean island and relax on the beach. Evening at a local bar with live music. Overnight stay in Caye Caulker.
Day 7 Caye Caulker - Belize City - San Ignacio
Take a ferry to Belize City. Travel by the classic bus from the 70's; to San Ignacio. An evening walk around the city. Overnight in San Ignacio.
Day 8 San Ignacio
Kayaking down the river among the rich tropical environment. Observe local flora and fauna. Overnight in San Ignacio.
Day 9 San Ignacio - El Remate, Guatemala
Transfer to Guatemala to visit the town of El Remate situated on picturesque Lake Peten. Swim in the lake. Overnight in El Remate.
Day 10: El Remate - Tikal - Flores
Visit the famous Tikal. The ruins of the ancient Mayan city, which contains some of the oldest and tallest pyramids in Meso-America. Visit the Gran Acropolis - the burial place of kings, Plaza of the Seven Temples, Temple of Inscriptions, and other objects. Transfer to Flores for the night.
Day 11 Flores
Stroll the streets of this pleasant city situated on the Peten Lake island. Enjoy the beach and unique local cuisine. Overnight in Flores.
Day 12 Flores - El Naranjo
Full day trip throughout the jungle to the ancient city of Palenque. Overnight in Tenosique.
Day 13 Palenque - Cancun / Playa del Carmen
Visiting the archaeological zone: Temple of the Inscriptions, Temple of the Red Queen, Temple of the Cross, Observatory, Palace of the Governors. Overnight travel to Cancun / Playa del Carmen.
Day 14 - 15 Cancun / Playa del Carmen
Rest on the white beaches of the Mayan Riviera. Overnight in Cancun / Playa del Carmen.
Day 16 Cancun
Transfer to the airport and departure from Mexico.
